Manila, Philippines, 27 June 2023 – Vividly demonstrating the friendly cooperation between China and the Philippines, ZTE, a global leading provider of information and communication technology solutions, recently celebrated the second China- Philippines Friendship Open Day in its new office in the Philippines. The event highlighted the partnership between the two countries, the development of Chinese business and their contribution to the Philippines’ economic, livelihood, and technological development.
Gracing the event are guests from the Chinese embassy and the Philippine government, including Mr. Yang Guoliang, Minister Counselor, Chinese Embassy, Mr. Ji Lingpeng, Counselor, Chinese Embassy, Hon. Anna Mae Yu Lamentillo, Undersecretary, Department of Information and Communications Technology, Hon. Edwin Ligot, Assistant Secretary, Department of Information and Communications Technology, Hon. Glenn Penaranda, Assistant Secretary, Department of Trade and Industries, Mr. Xiao Wei, CEA of DITO and Mr. Chen Jiong, CCA of DITO.
Also in attendance are ZTE Philippines’ management team including Mr. Jin Zhichao, CTO, ZTE Philippines, Mr. Chen Feng, South East Asia Regional CMO of ZTE Corporation, Mr. Zhang Chaohao, CMO, ZTE Philippines, Ms. Yuan Xueting, SVP, ZTE Philippines and Mr. Zhang Yuxuan, VP, ZTE Philippines.
The China-Philippines Friendship Open Day featured Chinese cultural activities such as the Kung Fu dance, where the basic aspects of Chinese martial arts (basic punches, kicks, jumps and somersaults), as well as poses and moves to the rhythm of the Chinese music are showcased and the zongzi making activity which enabled the guests to prepare and have a taste of the traditional Chinese sticky rice face. The event also displayed milestones of ZTE businesses programs in the Philippines.

The event also reinforced ZTE’s commitment to the Philippines, through its S.T.A.R. (Skills, Talent, Attitude, Responsibility) Internship Program. Three students from the University of Sto. Tomas received the formal offer of internship, which the company bestows to academically deserving engineering, information systems, and information technology students. DITO for their part, reaffirmed the commitment with a 5G CPE Equipment donation to the University of Sto. Tomas.
According to Jin Zhichao, CTO of ZTE Philippines, “ZTE Philippines will continue to foster this friendship and promote cooperation between our two countries. Together, we can achieve higher goals, create more opportunities, and pave the way for a better future for China and the Philippines.”
