Xiaomi, along with World Vision, volunteers in classroom maintenance and donates smart devices to create a “Xiaomi-Powered Room” at a Batangas public school

As part of preparations for the upcoming academic year and its longstanding partnership in helping communities via meaningful education programs, Xiaomi Philippines and nonprofit organization World Vision participated in this year’s Brigada Eskwela activities. The company donated Xiaomi smart devices, while its employees and select members of the Xiaomi Fans Club volunteered and fixed up classrooms at a local public school in Batangas province.

Last July 13, the school inaugurated its “Xiaomi-Powered Room,” which has the latest Xiaomi devices that are set to enhance students’ learning experience in the coming school year. The donated devices and electronics include Xiaomi TV A Pro units, Smart Cameras, Standing Fans, and Xiaomi Vacuum cleaners. The brand also gave school supplies, backpacks, and classroom chairs.

In addition to the donation of essential devices and supplies, representatives from Xiaomi and World Vision volunteered in fixing and maintaining the school’s classrooms for the start of the new academic year later this month. Xiaomi employees as well as select members of the Xiaomi Fan Community renovated rooms, painted walls, ceilings, and doors, and cleaned up the schoolyard.

This year’s Brigada Eskwela is Xiaomi’s first time sending volunteers to join the drive to help local public schools, after years of donating supplies to schools in need.

“We are extremely grateful to Xiaomi Philippines for the help they have extended to our school. Through the devices and electronics that they have donated, our schoolchildren’s learning needs were addressed, allowing them to have better experiences in class,” said Marilou O. Solis, head teacher.

“At Xiaomi, it has always been our mission to provide innovations for everyone, and this is a wonderful opportunity for the company’s local employees to really engage with the community and look at how we can help people further. With this initiative, we are happy to be able to help build a better and safer space for the kids to learn in school,” said Tomi Adrias, Xiaomi Philippines Head of Marketing.

“Filipino children need all the support they can get in school and in life, and we at World Vision thank Xiaomi so much for their program. The supplies the children will use in school will greatly help to give each of them a chance and to let them know that we prioritize their education. We pray that the company is able to help even more schools and children across the country with their technology,” said Michael Macabasag, area program officer for World Vision.

Xiaomi’s participation in Brigada Eskwela is a testament to the brand’s core values of sincerity and passion, which guide them in making efforts that contribute to the betterment of society.
