Twenty-six* of the country’s best student dance teams are set to battle it out at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum on Oct. 31, Saturday, for the much-awaited star-studded grand finals of Smart Jump In Dance-Off 3, the country’s biggest interschool dance competition.
Over P5 million worth of prizes and a chance to be brand ambassadors of the country’s unrivalled mobile services provider are at stake for the top dance crews, which consist of 6 competing teams in the elementary level and 10 teams each from high school and college levels that bested hundreds of groups nationwide during the audition and live regional rounds.
Supporter of the youth
First launched in 2013, the Smart Jump In Dance Off tilt aims to give student dance groups nationwide a platform to showcase their dancing talent, learn from the best in the industry and ultimately pursue their passions.
“Smart has always empowered the youth so they could jump into their dreams and passions – whether it is in sports, leadership, technology or performing arts. With the Jump In Dance Off competition, we are providing students all over the country a much bigger stage to share their skill and talent to the world,” said Evelyn Jimenez, Smart Prepaid Marketing Head.
“We can’t wait to see all the extremely brilliant finalists this year to go all-out in the grand finals to make their parents and schools even more proud!”
Biggest prizes
All the teams will be judged based on their visual and artistic expression, technical execution and musicality and overall effectiveness. Smart and Talk ‘N Text (TNT) subscribers will also have a say on the final results via text votes, which comprise 10 percent of the final scores.
The Jump In Dance Off 3 champion team and school will win a total cash prize of P300,000. Meanwhile, the second and third winning teams and schools will receive a total cash prize of P150,000 and P100,000 respectively.
Star-studded finale
The grand finals, to be hosted by Boom Gonzalez and Rizza Diaz, is headlined by Smart endorsers James Reid and Jasmine Curtis, who are set to treat everyone with the latest exciting news from Smart.
The country’s top professional dance groups like G-Force and Manoeuvers, as well as internationally-acclaimed crews like the Philippine All-Stars and A-team are also set to give rousing performances in the show.
