Because a midrange phone with a massive main camera megapixel count (try saying that again three times) should have an equally massive battery.
All the Cameras You Need
With the Mi Note 10, Xiaomi is trying to give users all the camera features they need in nearly all the photo-taking scenarios they encounter. On paper, the penta (five) camera rear set up practically addresses everything: the 108MP ultra high-res main shooter (f1.69 with OIS) can secure the detail-demanding landscape shots travelers want (it should perform just as well in low light scenes); the 12MP portrait cam (with 2x optical zoom) mimics the 50mm lens look that’s great for portraits (even in low light); the 5MP telephoto (with 10x hybrid and 50x digital zoom, and OIS) handles the usual zooming needs; the 20MP ultra wide-angle (with 117-degree field of view) gets more of the scene into the frame without stepping back; and the 2MP macro cam is for close ups (you know – food, coins, insects, and the like).
A feature called Night Mode 2.0 does “RAW-based multi-frame composition” so you can “take pictures without worrying about the dark”. (Quotes from mi.com/global/mi-note-10). Detail-heavy selfies are the forte of the 32MP front camera in the notch.
Screen
That said the display is a capable 6.47-inch curved AMOLED display with a 2340 x 1080 resolution (FHD+) at 397 (protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5) with a notch housing the 32MP selfie camera. An in-screen fingerprint sensor handles phone-unlocking security of the Mi Note 10. (The OPPO Reno 2 is another midrange phone with comparable specs and price, but with fewer cameras.)
Stamina
Probably the last head-turning feature here is the fast-charging massive 5,260mAh battery, which should last for a good two days and gets charged back to 100% in as short as 65 minutes via the included 30W fast charger (how we wish every phone maker threw in a fast charger in the box in 2019). Oh right, there’s a headphone jack. Because the dongle life is nothing to brag about.
Clear Focus
There’s no wireless charging, no gimmicks like a second screen on the back or one that folds, no super-spec’d up processor that spikes up the price, and no water or dust resistance rating – just a clear focus on what the user wants: great photos, a good screen, a nice tactile feel, a clean UI, and a very long battery life with fast charging. (And a headphone jack.)
