PLDT wireless unit Smart Communications has set up assisted SIM Registration booths and touchpoints to help facilitate SIM Registration for all subscribers needing assistance across the Philippines.
Smart is the first telco to set up assisted SIM registration booths and touchpoints in several areas in Luzon, Iloilo, Cebu, and the Davao Region, in collaboration with local government units, partner stores, and regional and provincial distributors.
On Jan. 5, PLDT and Smart FVP and Group Corporate Communications Head Cathy Yang joined Philippine Information Agency Region XI’s twin fora on Jan. 5 for Davao de Oro and Davao Oriental to encourage subscribers to register.
“Register your SIMs now, and help prevent scammers and predators online. We look forward to further collaboration with local government units and partners on-ground across the Philippines, helping hasten our SIM Registration process,” said Yang.
As of 8 a.m. of Jan. 5, some 6,296,811 Smart Communications, Inc. Prepaid, Smart Bro, and TNTph subscribers; 316,225 Postpaid users; and 100,596 corporate customers, or a total of 6.71 million subscribers had registered their SIMs on the Smart network.
New and existing Smart Prepaid and TNT subscribers may also access Smart’s SIM registration portal through smart.com.ph/simreg, while Postpaid subscribers can simply text YES to 5858 to confirm their registration.
