Shopee announced that it will be the first mobile shopping platform in the Philippines to offer both buyers and sellers Free Shipping and Cash on Delivery (COD) nationwide.
Shopee, one of the leading mobile commerce platform in Southeast Asia and Taiwan, is off to an auspicious start in 2017, seeing strong growth in users, millions of product shipped across the country, and numerous partnerships forged with new sellers. During their Chinese New Year celebration, Shopee’s Head of Commercial Business Macy Castillo shared that Shopee has reached over 3 million downloads in the country and has consistently been one of the leading mobile shopping apps in the Philippines.
“Shopee has experienced overwhelming growth in the past year and we are constantly improving all aspects of our business to cater to the increasing demands of our consumers. Our main commitment has always been to provide the best experience to our buyers and sellers,” says Castillo.

Riding with the luck that comes with the Year of the Yin Fire Rooster, Shopee announced that it will be the first mobile shopping platform in the Philippines to offer both buyers and sellers Free Shipping and Cash on Delivery (COD) nationwide. “Because of the program’s initial success, we decided to expand our Free Shipping and COD service, enabling a larger number of our sellers to attract even more customers from over 900 cities and municipalities in the country, especially outside Metro Manila,” adds Castillo.
One advantageous feature of the Free Shipping and COD program is that more sellers on the platform will be able to ship out their products conveniently from their homes and offices without having to make a trip to a courier service outlet by simply requesting for a pickup via the app with a few clicks.
“My customers were very satisfied with Shopee’s Free Shipping and Cash on Delivery because I was able to ship their orders more efficiently and grew my business from 2 to 5 orders a day to 300 to 400 orders daily,” said Ian Ordinario, owner of the Mr. Suki Mo Ako store in Shopee. “They’ve made it very convenient — before, I needed to line up in a nearby courier branch; now with Shopee, I can easily ask the courier to pick up orders via the app. This made my transactions with buyers faster, which in return made them very happy,” added Ordinario.
Shopee is available for download on the App Store and Google Play for free across the Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, and Taiwan. To date, there are over 25 million downloads across these countries. For more information, please visit www.shopee.ph.
