Learn about the most common type of headache and what you can do to prevent it

A stress headache is often described as a band of pain around the head, or like both sides of the head are being squeezed tightly. It often gets confused for a migraine, especially when it is intensely painful, and can also trigger more chronic types of headache.
As the name suggests, a stress headache is usually the result of a buildup of stress in the body. There are two types: episodic and chronic. Episodic stress headaches are often set off by a single stressful situation, while chronic stress headaches happen due to regular, daily stressors. Some examples of situations that can contribute to the progression of stress headaches are family problems, or being overworked at your job.

A long-term solution for stress headaches is to deal with what causes you stress, as well as changing unhealthy lifestyle habits. Staying hydrated, getting enough sleep, lessening screen time, and eating on time can help lessen incidences of stress headaches significantly.
