PLDT and its wireless unit Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) delivered their first batch of relief aid to communities in Camarines Sur following the onslaught of severe tropical storm #PaengPH.
Volunteers from PLDT and Smart’s Bicol offices have helped pack and distribute the relief bags. Representatives from the local government units of Sangay and San Jose, Camarines Sur were present during the delivery and turnover of food packs to their residents who were impacted by ‘Paeng’.
“PLDT and Smart continue to work on bringing much-needed help to more provinces in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao swept over by ‘Paeng’ in the coming days. The Group is also in close coordination with their key partners from the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Offices of ‘Paeng’-hit areas, the Philippine Disaster Resilience Foundation, and Tulong Kapatid, the consortium of MVP-led organizations and foundations,” said Cathy Yang, First Vice President and Group Head of Corporate Communications at PLDT and Smart.
More relief assistance from PLDT, Smart, PLDT and Smart Foundation, and the rest of Tulong Kapatid are on their way to severely affected provinces in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
Part of PLDT and Smart’s commitment to nation building is promoting and practicing a culture of resilience, beginning from preparedness all the way to response and recovery.
