[Manila, Philippines]: Procter & Gamble (P&G) Philippines, whose portfolio has been trusted over the years for its premium health care, home care, beauty, and grooming products, continues stepping up as a Force for Good in helping defend the health of the country with its latest partnership with the Philippine Red Cross (PRC).
With the recent uptick in COVID-19 cases, P&G and PRC distributed COVID-19 Care Kits containing Safeguard Body Wash, Safeguard Foaming Liquid Hand Soap, and P&G medical-grade face masks to 5,000 beneficiaries from different hospitals, medical centers, isolation facilities, and most at-risk populations in priority areas across the country. Together, they aim to continue advocating proper hygiene, and giving access to sanitation products and wash-enabling environments.
“We are thankful to the Philippine Red Cross for their steadfast commitment to ensure safe and healthy communities. We hope that our extended support can help protect the most vulnerable and help the country fully recover from COVID-19,” says Anna Legarda-Locsin, Communications Director for P&G Philippines.
A force for good
P&G’s partnership with PRC is part of its mission to continue serving and improving the lives of consumers who rely and trust on their products to protect their homes and everyday lives. Since the start of the pandemic, P&G has helped provide the comforts of home, health, and hygiene through its donation of locally-produced medical grade face masks, hygiene products, personal protective equipment (PPEs), and handwashing facilities to medical institutions and organizations.
Earlier this year, P&G also helped PRC vaccinate over 52,000 vulnerable individuals in Region IV-A through PRC’s Bakuna Bus project. P&G also partnered with Robinsons Supermarket and PRC for the “Victory Over Virus” donation program which will vaccinate over 2,000 senior citizens in rural areas in Region IV-A this August.
P&G was also the Department of Health’s largest private partner in the “BIDA Solusyon sa COVID-19” nationwide education campaign launched with the US Agency for International Development (USAID) for better health habits.
For its workforce, the company launched the Alagang P&G program where employees were given Alaga and Health Defense Kits containing hygiene and healthcare essentials to help protect against COVID-19 on top of other programs for employee health and wellness.
