Digital payments and commerce solutions are bringing the food festival and night market experience to another level as PayMaya Philippines (formerly Smart eMoney, Inc.) and PLDT Smart SME Nation are enabling entrepreneurs participating at the Kampo BGC with PayMaya Swipe and Smart Store Manager.
Kampo is a series of events organized by Bonifacio Global City (BGC) that aims to bring the finest food experience in the metro. Various food trucks will gather at 9th avenue in BGC to satisfy the craving palate of customers for authentic food. These stalls are: Mexikombi (Mexican food), Chef Brossy’s (Japanese), I Have 2 Eggs (all-day breakfast), Truck Bun (sandwiches), SWAT (sausages), Cheese Steak (cheese-infused food), Mio Gelati (gelato), Cold Stone (ice cream), and Woody’s among others. To help these merchants deliver a seamless customer experience, PayMaya Business and PLDT Smart SME Nation will power them with much-needed modern-day business solutions.
The food trucks are being equipped with Smart Store Manager from Smart SME, an app that helps businesses manage their day-to-day operations such as monitoring of real time inventory, out-of-stock items, sales take-up, and other important data available from stores and outlets. It also enables entrepreneurs to collect and organize data for insights that they can leverage for informed decision-making.
Food stalls will experience a more modern way of accepting payments as they will be issued with PayMaya Swipe terminals powered by Smart that will allow their cashiers to accept credit cards using only a mobile point-of-sale (POS) device attached to their phones.
Meanwhile, customers are encouraged to avail of Paymaya at the event and use them as the preferred mode of payment. The first 150 customers will get their PayMaya cards for free. As an additional treat, customers who use their PayMaya cards with a minimum spend of Php100 will receive popcorn and drinks.
After the festival, PayMaya users can continue to load their cards in over 15,000 establishments nationwide (Cliqq stations at 7-Eleven convenience stores, Robinsons Mall Business Centers, SM Malls Business Centers, Bayad Center outlets, Smart Padala centers) or via BDO Online Banking so they can enjoy the convenience and security of cashless payments for online stores and face-to-face transactions.
Before the night ends at Kampo, food truck merchants with the most number of PayMaya swipe transactions will take home special prizes from PayMaya Philippines, and PLDT Smart SME Nation. The rest of the awards to be given are Best Truck Design, Fastest Staff, and Friendliest Staff.
“At PayMaya, we strive to provide the cashless payment experience that is fast, secure, and convenient so consumers can buy and do what they have always wanted even without a credit card,” said Mar Lazaro, Assistant Vice President and Head of Payments and Acquiring, PayMaya Philippines. “We are thrilled that Kampo prefers PayMaya as the mode of payment transaction so the foodies can experience a typical food fair the millennial way.”
“We are here to help MSMEs harness opportunities in utilizing digital technologies to make their services and operations more efficient,” said Mitch Locsin, VP and Head of PLDT Smart SME Nation. “Digitally empowering the MSME sector is our way of helping boost the country’s economic and business landscape. We are committed to enabling the success of all Filipino entrepreneurs, wherever they may be, and no matter how small or big their businesses may be.”
