PHNOM PENH, 6 September – The regular season of MPL Cambodia – Autumn Split concludes its 5-week run with outstanding gameplays from eight teams. See You Soon, Impunity, and Burn X Flash topped the leaderboard and will be heading to the playoffs with five other teams.
See You Soon finished on top garnering a total of 19 points. The team exhibited an almost perfect performance, only tallying one game loss with Burn X Flash in Week 4. Impunity came in second with 14 points and a 10-4 overall score.
On the other hand, Burn X Flash, headed by Filipino coach John “Zico” Dizon settled for 3rd spot after taking a 1-1 split against Logic Esports in Week 5. Burn X Flash paraded Filipino imports namely Jhonwin “Hesa” Vergara and Michael “MPDKING” Endino who both came from Nexplay EVOS. The team is set to open their payoffs campaign in a best-of-five series against Team Max for a top 4 placement.
Playoffs Season starts 17 September with Impunity and DG Quantum opening the tournament in a best-of-five series. The Semi-finals are scheduled on 1 October followed by Championship on 2 October. The teams are vying for the coveted title and a lion’s share of USD 40,000.
To further bring fans closer to their idols, MPL-KH launched offline mall activations called “My best friend, MPL-KH” and “Close to Pro Player.”
“My Best Friend, MPL-KH” was held in Aeron2, the largest shopping mall in Phnom Penh. Fans can leave messages of support or ask questions to their favorite teams.
On the other hand, “Close to Pro Player” campaign aims to give lucky fans a chance to visit the boot camps of the top 4 teams and interact with their idols. The program runs from today until 28 September.
MPL-KH is supported by brand partners to ensure an outstanding-level tournament. This season, leading local mobile operator Metfone joins as the presenting partner. Renowned automobile manufacturer Honda is now part of the official sponsors alongside Sting. The energy drink maker will provide chairs and beverages for the players.
Meanwhile, Indonesia-based instant noodle producer Indomie joins TikTok as the esports partners.
