Abhishek Mohan, a Senior Technology executive and entrepreneur, has been named as the new Managing Director of Carmudi Philippines. He replaces outgoing Managing Director Subir Lohani, who is set to take over Carmudi Indonesia operations. “Carmudi Philippines is the country’s leading online vehicle marketplace,” Mohan said. “I’m excited about my new responsibilities at the company.”
Mohan has experience at Regional head level and posseses a keen knowledge of the Asia Pacific market. He will be responsible for growing the business and for making the Carmudi brand synomous with anything related to vehicles.
“The Philippines seems to have all the pieces in place with car sales in 2015 having hit an estimated 310,000 units from 269,000 units in the previous fiscal, an emerging young upwardly mobile middle class, low car ownership ratio and an ASEAN leading GDP growth. We believe these, coupled with government policies such as the Comprehensive Automotive Resurgence Strategy (CARS) by the Department of Trade and Industry will make vehicles more affordable and also increase the contribution of the automotive industry, in employment terms,” Mohan said.
Previous Work
Before Carmudi, Mohan was Excitor’s Regional Director for Asia and Oceania. Excitor is a Danish Mobility Solutions Company whose flagship product DME (Dynamic Mobile Exchange) is a disruptive client/server solution for running applications on mobile devices, accessing mail servers, CRM and ERP systems.
As head of the company’s Asia and Oceania arm, Mohan was able to establish a regional supply base from scratch, evolving the company’s multi-region operation in record time while using start-up like resources. He was also assigned in building the Asia and Oceania markets for Soliton’s key products in addition to Excitor’s products.
Education
Mohan holds an MBA in General Management with Electives in Corporate Finance and Entrepreneurship from the Asian Institute of Management in Manila, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Economics with first class from St. Xavier’s College in Mumbai, India.
