The DYC or the Digital Young Creative competition, one of the most-awaited events of the IMMAP DigiCon has announced the winners of the highly anticipated contest. The team from Ogilvy & Mather represented by Samantha Dedel and Henry Glo has won over 45 competitors and will represent the Philippines in the 2022 Cannes Digital Young Lions competition. The competitors were asked to develop a digital campaign for Ronald McDonald House Charities Read to Learn Program.
So far, the country has won a bronze in the competition courtesy of Lance Francisco and Zach Lim who were then representing Wunderman Thompson. “This year, the competition was made more exciting with a record number of 46 entries! We also made some changes in the competition with the help of our committee members Brandie Tan, Wacky Torres, and Ollie Rabatan.”, Rudy Villar, IMMAP DYC Committee Chair said.
“This time, we held The Digital Young Creative Competition differently by adding an elimination round. The first round was judged using a scoring system similar to what is used in Cannes Lions. The final round is deliberated among a group of judges who determined which team will go and compete in Young Lions next year.”, said Brandie Tan, DYC committee member and Jury Chair.
Instead of holding face-to-face workshops for the competitors, IMMAP gave the competitors access to a series of videos created by notable industry leaders and past winners. This is called Brainstorm Buddies, an innovative mentoring program for the young creatives.
Second place winners came from TBWA represented by Renzo Valmonte and James Mendoza. Third placers were Nicole Aslee Babia and Marian Hannah Louise Vailoces from Publicis Manila Inc.
The IMMAP Digital Young Creative (DYC) competition is a project of the IMMAP Education Committee headed by Gara Santos-Ontiveros, Industry Head, CPG+Retail at Google Philippines under the guidance of the 4As, the country’s official representative to the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity.
The event is presented by McDonald’s Philippines.
