Ginebra San Miguel gathered top mixologists at Axon in Green Sun Hotel, Makati last June 7 to celebrate World Gin Day — Enzo Lim, Kalel Demetrio, and Icy Marinas created special Ginebra San Miguel cocktails to represent the country’s three island groups. All three also judged a Mixologists Showndown at the event, where top bartenders whipped up signature cocktails that capture the spirit of the country as a gin nation. Chef Rolando Laudico prepared a sumptuous “pulutan” to go with the mixologists’ cocktails. Present at the event were Gab Valenciano (dancer, director), Sam Ajdani (Mr. World Philippines 2016), vlogger Vince Vandorpe, Angel Dei Peralta (travel and beauty blogger), and international model couple/reality TV stars Chelsea Robato and Christian Busby. GSM Blue endorser Myrtle Sarrosa also performed to the delight of audiences. Celebrated on every second Saturday of June, World Gin Day was founded by British blogger Neil Houston ten years ago. In the Philippines, World Gin Day was first celebrated in 2014 coinciding with the celebration of Ginebra San Miguel’s 180th anniversary.
