Mynt, the fintech company of Globe Telecom, Ant Financial, and Ayala Corp. which operates GCash, announced yesterday that the GCash QR-based mobile payment technology is now available in all restaurants and outlets of FooDee Global Concepts in the country.
As one of Manila’s largest multi brand food groups, FooDee Global Concepts continues to dominate the culinary scene with over 30 years of experience under its belt. Starting with homegrown brands for the Philippine market, it now brings foreign brands from all over the world to cater to its sophisticated clientele. Brands include Tim Ho Wan, Todd English Food Hall, POUND by Todd English, Flatterie, HOOK, Tsuta Japanese Soba Noodles, FOO’D by David Oldani, MESA Filipino Moderne, llaollao, Bench Café Kam’s Roast and Sunnies Café.
“We are excited to launch this partnership with FooDee Global Concepts which is known to have the most innovative restaurants in the country today. Mynt, on the other hand, is leading the cashless revolution in the Philippines with GCash scan to pay which is both convenient and secure to use. Together, we are helping more people to adopt digital payments using their smartphone,” said Anthony Thomas, President and CEO of Mynt.
“At FooDee Global, we are committed to give all our customers world-class dining experience at all our restaurants. This partnership with GCash will offer more convenience since customers can now pay using their GCash via the Scan-to-Pay technology. No need to wait for change or sign credit card slips. They can simply scan the QR Code, enter the amount to be paid, and pay via the GCash App,” said Rikki Dee, President and CEO of FooDee Global Concepts.
Using the Scan to Pay feature of GCash is simple. A customer with an iPhone or an Android smartphone only needs to download or update to the latest version of the GCash App, register an account, and fund GCash wallet at any of over 15,000 GCash Partner Outlets nationwide – which now includes all the restaurants under the FooDee Group. Once done, the customer just has to tap on Scan QR, point a phone’s camera at the partner’s QR code, and pay.
