In a span of around an hour, thousands of fans around the world – mostly Filipinos – showered their interest, love, and adoration on the 2015 Miss Universe Winner Pia Wurtzbach as they flooded her with their questions using the official #AskMissUniverse hashtag on Twitter. There were over 15,000 Tweets for #AskMissUniverse and it climbed to the top of the Philippines Trends yesterday as Pia answered questions via the official @MissUniverse account (https://twitter.com/missuniverse) on Twitter.
Through the Twitter Q&A party, Filipinos got the chance to directly interact with the 2015 Miss Universe title holder, essentially enriching the homecoming experience in the Philippines for both Pia and her fans in the country. If you missed the Twitter Q&A party, you can simply log on to Twitter and search for #AskMissUniverse to see all of Pia’s answers, including her special video responses.
Pia’s most popular answer from the #AskMissUniverse Q&A yesterday was when she named Kapamilya star Liza Soberano as someone who can follow her steps and compete in the Miss Universe pageant. This Tweet was viewed by her fans over 100,000 times on Twitter:
I can think of a lot. But if I had to pick one.. Liza Soberano. She’s beautiful! -Pia #askmissuniversehttps://t.co/AS5l7dCUns

To commemorate this #OnlyOnTwitter fan event, Twitter also created a special Moments for the #AskMissUniverse Q&A party:

Special Video Treat for Fans
Aside from her text answers, Pia also posted video responses to some questions – giving her fans a special face-to-face encounter that is more intimate than the usual Twitter Q&A. Among those questions that she answered via video Tweets is her guilty pleasure (desserts although she can’t binge on desserts yet, she claims). Pia also gamely answered her favorite Drake song by singing a few lines from Hotline Bling.

But what’s most notable among the video interactions during the Q&A was when a 17-year old Filipino based in Texas, Jerel Labra boldly made a witty pitch (he’s not as handsome as James Franco, as funny as Seth Rogen, or as ripped as Channing Tatum, but he’s a runner up) and asked Pia to be his prom date on April 23rd. His brave attempt did get rewarded as Pia gave a hopeful answer just as long as her schedule permits it.
@MissUniverse here’s my question: @PiaWurtzbach will you go to my senior prom with me? ???? #AskMissUniverse #prom2k16 pic.twitter.com/zEcHb2JKPk

Virtually “Rubbing Elbows” with Beauty Queen Royalty
During the Twitter Q&A, Pinoys got to know more about the Filipina beauty royalty as she answered some personal questions raised over Twitter. Pia openly shared her fun tidbits of information about herself like her lucky color (blue) and favorite Filipino food (Kare kare), among many others. Pia also revealed that she’s also a closet gamer, naming Final Fantasy and Tekken as her favorite games.
Aside from that, she also expressed her thoughts on the current political and social landscape of the Philippines. Pia shared that she isn’t closing any doors for a possible political career (although she also shared that the President has advised her to think it five times over). She also highlighted what she looks for in the next President of the Philippines (compassionate, genuine, Charismatic with a good platform).
Blue is definitely my lucky color. Don’t you think? 🙂 -Pia #askmissuniverse https://t.co/yL5Y4VLYCp
