ExtraHop, the leader in cloud-native network detection and response, today announced the appointment of Kenneth Chen as the new Vice President for Asia. In this new role, Chen is responsible for the business strategy and execution in the region with a laser focus on driving revenue growth and expanding key partnerships. Based in Singapore, Chen brings more than 20 years of enterprise technology and cybersecurity experience to ExtraHop.

“The exponential growth in the digital technology sector and thriving global manufacturing hub in the Asia region has created a lot of opportunity for the area but also has made it an enticing target for cybercriminals,” said Marc Andrews, GM of EMEA and APJ, ExtraHop. “I’m thrilled to have Kenneth join ExtraHop at this critical juncture to spearhead our business in this region. Kenneth’s track record of building world class teams, ensuring customer satisfaction, and collaboration with partners is impressive. I know he can help drive growth in the region as we focus on our mission to stop advanced threats.”

According to Interpol’s ASEAN Cyberthreat Assessment 2021, ransomware is one of the toughest threats facing organizations in the region with the volume of attacks hitting 2.7 million in the first three quarters of 2020. ExtraHop is uniquely positioned to help organizations stop advanced attacks, like ransomware, by helping customers identify threat tactics in the midgame, where the attacker pivots through infrastructure. ExtraHop detects midgame actions—such as lateral movement, Active Directory infrastructure exploitation (e.g. privilege escalation), data staging, and data exfiltration—and alerts teams to the intrusion.

“I’m thrilled to join ExtraHop at such a pivotal time in the industry. Given the uptick of advanced threats like supply chain compromise and ransomware, I want to focus on streamlining cybersecurity for our trusted network of partners and the enterprise,” said Chen. “My goal is to equip businesses with reliable and robust security solutions; technologies capable of scaling to face the ever-growing threats in cyberspace.”

Chen will be responsible for expanding ExtraHop’s presence in Asia and driving business strategy through newfound enterprise partnerships and collaborations. Before joining ExtraHop, Chen was the Managing Director at Forescout Technologies for the ASEAN region. Prior to that, he was responsible for driving strategic growth for Broadcom’s cybersecurity, networking, and infrastructure business and developing effective routes to market through channel partnerships and technology alliances. Chen also served as Vice President for the ASEAN region for Symantec Corporation, where he was responsible for strategy and operations in the region. Chen started his career in the Singapore Armed Forces.
