MANILA, PHILIPPINES – 16 December 2021 – ExtraHop, the leader in cloud-native network detection and response, today announced that it has expanded its relationship with global technology distributor Westcon-Comstor to bring advanced threat detection, investigation, and response capabilities to Indonesia and the Philippines. In addition, leading IT infrastructure solution partner Virtus Technology Indonesia (VTI) has joined the ExtraHop reseller community, adding network detection and response (NDR) to its cybersecurity portfolio.
Cyber threats have been on the rise in ASEAN due to the pandemic and work-from-home arrangements. The reported financial damage caused by ransomware in ASEAN exceeded 1 billion USD in 2020. This number is likely even higher, as many businesses are unwilling to report cases. Indonesia was hit particularly hard, with businesses in the country suffering approximately 1.3 million ransomware attacks––accounting for almost half of the ransomware cases detected in the region.
