Epson Precision (Philippines) Inc. (EPPI) received its 3rd PEZA Outstanding Environmental Performance award for its sustained environmental compliance and innovative systems for the period of 3 years (2016-2018).
EPPI’s winning initiatives include an environmental education drive for high school students and employee engagement activities such as coastal clean-up and Takbo Para sa Kalikasan fun run. To lessen energy consumption inside its facilities, EPPI has also initiated machine or equipment automation and the installation of 3MW solar panels in its factories. Additionally, the company is also re-pelletizing plastic waste for use as raw material in injection molding to improve material use and significantly reduce its waste.
“The support of the management in providing resources to implement our environmental activities as well as the cooperation of all employees drive the success of our eco initiatives,” Akifumi Takei, President of Epson Precision (Philippines) said. “The intrinsic reward that we get as a result of these activities and recognition continuously inspires us to think of better ways to achieve our environmental goals.”
Owing to its strong commitment to work with the environment, EPPI will automatically receive the Hall of Fame award for Environment by April 2020. The Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) is the Philippine government agency tasked to promote investments, extend assistance, register, grant incentives to and facilitate the business operations of investors in export-oriented manufacturing and service facilities inside selected PEZA Special Economic Zones.
