High spec’d or branded 2-in-1 laptops can be costly. But these days, some of us need compact tablets – because most work get done on Windows laptops, no matter how popular Android tablets get. The wireless keyboard doubles as tablet cover and no key seems to be strangely too narrow or out of place. You will end up using the Jumper EZpad 5s as a laptop first and stand alone tablet second. To set up a laptop style use, just lay the device flat on a table with the display facing down, pull up the back stand, and lift the display up (as you would on a normal laptop) as your other hand makes sure the keyboard stays in place.
You’ll immediately notice that the tablet with keyboard attached occupies a small space on a table, and also in your bag. You will feel the difference in space consumed when you’ve been using a normal laptop. This means you can use this on the pull down and small tables on airplanes, trains, and buses.
Because the tablet contains all the PC parts, in case the wireless keyboard runs out of charge, you can connect another wireless keyboard, or connect a standard USB keyboard via a USB OTG dongle (not included).
The display is good and side viewing angles as okay, so the Jumper EZpad, along with the speakers on both sides of the tablet, can make for a good video marathon device.
There are enough USB ports on this device, which is a great thing as you can attach multiple external USB external storage disks and a mouse, which means this compact PC is great to bring along for doing some light multi tasking work (at home, in the cafe, library, anywhere you’re comfortable).
The 4GB RAM is enough for light tasks: you will be buying this for the package of price, portability, and work outside of the office, instead of being a primary power PC. You can load multiple tabs on the default Windows 10 browser, or on your favorite third party browsers. Office 365 doesn’t come pre-installed but there are free alternatives like Libre Office and Google Docs.
