CIC anticipates a 7% increase in the numbers of vehicles from December 23, 2021, to January 4, 2022, plying its expressway with the government loosening land travel restrictions. This development is anticipated by the toll road company and ensures safe, secure, reliable, and convenient toll road for travelers by putting CAVITEX’s operations on heightened alert status during the holiday rush
““The holiday season has been anticipated to increase mobility of our motoring public, more so with government loosening travel restrictions. Together with our other related congestion management measures, we are suspending roadworks in CAVITEX from December 23-25 and Dec 31-Jan 2 of the new year 2022 to give our motorists unobstructed access,” said Mr. Roberto V. Bontia, President and General Manager of Cavitex Infrastructure Corporation.”
CIC extends 24/7 motorist assistance among toll users. Deployment of manpower at toll plazas, patrol vehicles, ambulance, towing services, maintenance vehicles, and personnel will be at optimum level. The toll road operator as well coordinated with local government units (LGUs) to ensure smooth flow of traffic at entries and exits of the expressway.
Easytrip RFID reloading and installation sites along CAVITEX will also be available 24/7 as seasonal travelers —motorists with no Easytrip RFID stickers or sufficient load balance, are expected to pass by the expressway during the period.
Moreover, CIC also offers free towing for Class 1 vehicles (to the nearest exit only) from 6 am of December 24 until 6 am of December 27, 2021, and from 6 am of January 1 to 6 am of January 3, 2022.
PRA CEO and GM Atty Janilo Rubiato said “Our operations arm, PEATC along with CIC continue to remind motorists to comply with the road safety laws such as Anti-Drunk and Drugged Driving Act and Seat Belts Use Act; and follow government’s minimum health protocols to avoid COVID-19 transmission and its occurring variants.”
Last year, the toll road operator recorded the highest average daily traffic (ADT) of 142,700 vehicles plying CAVITEX during the holiday season of 2020.
MPTC is the biggest tollway builder and operator in the Philippines. Aside from CAVITEX, it also holds the concession for the CAVITEX C5 Link, Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX), North Luzon Expressway (NLEX), Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX), and the upcoming Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway (CCLEX) in Cebu.
