City of Firsts promotes mental health through several activities
In a world where the pressures of daily life can often feel overwhelming, there are times when we need to stop and have a breather from all the stress. In times like these, we must choose to take care of our mental health just like our physical health.
We must also do our part in sharing the importance of prioritizing one’s mental health to others. By imparting the importance of mental health, we contribute to a more compassionate and understanding society, where individuals feel empowered to seek help when needed.
This World Mental Health Day, the City of Firsts is taking part in this global initiative through activities promoting the importance of mental well-being.
Running from October 10 to October 15, the “This Is Me” exhibit at the Gateway Mall activity center promises to be a visually stunning and emotionally uplifting experience. The exhibit features 4×7 feet panels inscribed with uplifting words, aiming to inspire all who visit. Moving and encouraging words will also be played at the Quantum Skyview at the New Gateway Mall 2 on the same dates.
On the same day, October 10th, the Gateway Mall Activity Area will host an illuminating Mental Health Talk. The goal is to foster open dialogue and raise awareness surrounding mental health issues.
Further enhancing the event’s impact, mental health professionals offering free mental health consultations and counseling will be on hand. This ensures that attendees have access to professional guidance, should they need it.
As soothing melodies fill the air with feel-good music, the event day promises to be a moment of connection and reflection.
“We want to create an event where people can reflect on their value and uniqueness while encouraging them to learn about mental resilience during these times,” Marjorie Go, VP for Marketing of Araneta City, said. “We welcome everyone for who they authentically are and this event celebrates you in all your beauty in the hope of inspiring more people to realize their value and take care of their mental health.”
In the digital age, self-expression knows no bounds, and Araneta City invites everyone to join in the celebration of individuality through the “I See You!” digital promo, running from October 10th to the 15th, 2023. Participants can take part through the Facebook page platform, posting pictures at the “This Is Me” exhibit and using the official hashtags #ThisIsMe #AranetaCity #CityOfFirsts.
Participants are encouraged to express themselves in their captions, sharing why they are beautiful, strong, or simply who they are. But remember, everyone is valid and acceptable, and every post using the official hashtags is a celebration of individuality. Prizes await, with five winners set to receive ₱1,000 worth of Conti’s gift certificates, and one lucky individual will win a Novotel Manila Araneta City buffet gift certificate for two.
The winners’ announcement will take place on October 16, on Araneta City’s Facebook page, providing a fitting conclusion to a week of self-expression and self-celebration.
